Also is Chinese New Year, falls on Wednesday, January 29th it’s the year of the snake.God’s blessings on all of you, as we remember the families in China and their going home at this special time of the year to be with their families.

We’ll be sharing an update in January with more news about our plans for Africa.

Currently, I’m in Lima, Peru, and it has been an incredible experience so far. Our flight went smoothly—much better than expected! Andy met us at the airport and took us to his house, where we stayed the first night.

The next day, Andy took us to Susanna’s house, where we stayed until Wednesday, the27th.

We departed New Zealand on 15 November at 7 p.m. and arrived in Lima at 7:05 p.m.the same day—though technically, we lost an entire day. Our first meeting was onSaturday, leaving us with no time to recover from the journey.

Sunday Morning Service We took a taxi to meet Marcus, the brother of Mirtha from New Zealand, who helped with the translation. We gave him gifts from Mirtha and the books from us.It was arranged to meet Marcus at Roger and Rebecca's place as it was closer.

This is Marcus and he’s the brother of my dear friend Mirtha in Wanganui who helped with translating and itwas a pleasure to give her two brothers a set of mySpanish books

Roger and Rebecca have a son, David – what a talented young man! God is going to use him in amazing ways. It’s incredible what he’s doing to support his family. God has called Rebecca to serve the Indigenous children of Cantagallo, who endure poverty, sexual abuse, discrimination, and violence against their mothers due to machismo.Roger has written some books and is preparing to go to the United States to get them published. We are praying for him, as I feel this will be a great blessing. We had a good chat before Marcus left, and we departed shortly after. Andy then arrived to drive us to the village, which is home to displaced children from the Amazon jungle whose village was burnt down. They were such lovely children.

Saturday AfternoonThis Saturday afternoon, Rebeca introduced us to Principal Doris at the school and took us there. We presented her with a soccer ball, some gifts, and books. We visited the classrooms and spoke with the students. In one of the classrooms, there was an 8-year-old boy named Liam Lopez.

The teacher mentioned that he had declared he was going to China.I asked if I could pray for him, and the teacher gave her consent. I took his two hands in mine and prayed. As I did, I saw his eyes searching my face, as if to say he believed in what I was saying. I prayed for God’s protection over him and entrusted him intoGod’s hands, knowing that whenever his journey to China might come to pass, it would be according to God’s will.

Rebeca, me, Doris principle, Andi and Susanna at the school

As we were leaving, a man approached Andy and asked if we could visit his home.Andy Gonzales Maranatha introduced us to a pastor, who kindly led us through narrow alleyways to his home.Inside, he warmly welcomed us and invited us to join him in prayer. What immediately caught my attention was a pelt hanging on the wall—a poignant reminder of the family’s roots in the jungle. They had been forced to relocate after their village was burned down.

Saturday Night

That evening, we had our first meeting at the Assemblies of God Church. Pastor Rachel graciously gave us an hour to share. To be honest, I’m not sure how I managed to get through it—I was still dazed from the travel and jet lag. The first three days passed in a blur, but by God’s grace, we made it through.

Sunday Morning Service

On Sunday, 17 November, we attended the 10 a.m. service at Pastor Ricardo’s church. His wife, Lesley, and their sons led worship, with Sharon helping to translate. It was a beautiful family effort.

Pastor Ricardo’s radiant glow was unmistakably from the Lord. I gifted him a set of my books, which he eagerly began reading. He was so moved that the next day he called a Christian television station to share a story about me.

He recounted how, one night, I was too tired to feed the babies, yet God opened my spiritual eyes to see angels feeding them. The interview went well, and afterwards, we discovered why everything had unfolded the way it did. The manager, Ricki, shared that their organisation runs a church, a bookshop, a Christian TV and radio studio, and even a printing press.

They offered to review my books, and if approved, they will print them—a true blessing! Pastor Ricardo also invited me to join him at Congress to submit papers supporting pro-life initiatives. He asked if I could connect him with a pastor in South Korea for a project to assist Korean children next year, and I promised to try.

During the service, I prayed for a couple heading to Brazil, who later took a photo with us. Lesley, Pastor Ricardo’s wife, dreams of setting up an orphanage in Lima. The need is ongoing, as many of the children they currently help still have parents.

After the service, we enjoyed a wonderful two-hour lunch before heading home for much-needed rest.

Sunday Night

That evening, we attended Word of Life Church, pastored by Samwell and his wife, Alena. They even brought their two dogs to the service—wearing nappies, no less! It was a good service, though navigating the traffic was utterly exhausting. Unlike NewZealand, the noise and chaos on the roads here are constant and overwhelming.

Meeting with the Chinese Church in Lima, Peru

Monday morning came around quickly. We were introduced to Pastor Miguel and his wife, Kmoci. Miguel was initially a little apprehensive but eventually warmed up to us.He even got out his mobile phone to make contact with people he thought could help, but unfortunately, that didn’t lead to anything. We enjoyed a Chinese meal together with Andy, our driver, and Susana, which was a delightful time of fellowship. The Chinese Church in Lima was amazing! Of course, it was Chinese—ha ha.

A Day of Rest

Tuesday was meant to be a day off, but I wasn’t feeling well. I had caught a cold after the night meeting, which led to a stuffy nose and eventually a chest infection. A quick visit to the chemist and a course of antibiotics sorted me out, thankfully.

Pastors’ Breakfast

On Wednesday morning, Susana hosted a breakfast for local pastors. She and the ladies did an excellent job preparing the food and setting the table. After breakfast, I shared my testimony, which was well-received.

We gathered in a circle to pray, and I saw an open heaven above us. I told them to submit their prayers to the Lord then and there, and they did. It was a very powerful moment, and the Holy Spirit moved among us. I taught them about listening to theHoly Spirit and following His lead. Several pastors were inspired to return to their churches and encourage their congregations.

I was also blessed that three of them purchased sets of my books.

Over the whole time, we had about two meetings every day. It was a lot, and I wasn’tfeeling well, but by Friday morning, I was much better.

Television Interview

On Friday, I participated in a television interview, which was a new and excitingexperience.

The manager of the TV studio explained that they have a church, which also operatesthe TV studio, a bookshop, and a printing press. It’s no wonder everything aligned withGod’s plans. They will have some people read the books and then contact me aboutprinting copies to sell in their shop, which would be a blessing.

Hopefully, I will return in a year to arrange for the sale of the books there.

The incredible story of Sandra King. Missionary who saved lives in China and Uganda.

Punchauca Village Outreach

I want to thank the wonderful lady who purchased all the toys and clothes. We handed them all out, and it was such a blessing to the villagers. Just seeing their faces was unforgettable. When anyone prays, they repeat the prayer—it’s a very special moment. The children asked questions while we were there—about our country, our families, and other things. It was another one and a half hours’ drive to get home—such a lot of travelling.

Sunday Morning Church, 23rd November

On Sunday, we visited a Pentecostal church where I was initially given 40 minutes to speak. Susana translated for me. When I was introduced, the pastor mentioned he had a full church, and everyone laughed.

After the first testimony, the pastor kept asking for more, and the congregation was incredibly responsive.

The name of the church is Iglesia Resplendence. Yaira and Silvana, the pastors, are a young couple who have been through YWAM Lima. They have an amazing spiritual church and are passionate about their ministry. The people are so hungry for the Word—they could almost eat it, as scripture says, like manna from heaven. Praise the Lord! I shared with them about the underground church and how it relates to their faith. After the service, we had lunch at Andy’s place and rested before heading out to an evening service.

In the evening, we attended a service at Andy’s church. He introduced us to the pastor, and it was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed seeing Andy in a pastoral role. This was the last meeting we had, and it went very well. We were blessed, as were the people. Most places we visited were full, which was encouraging.

Monday was a quieter day, giving Andrea and me the opportunity to explore the village, meet locals, and enjoy a coffee break. Monday and Tuesday were both relatively calm, apart from an evening meeting with two married couples seeking guidance.

During the last three days of our visit, we took part in a few tours during the daytime. The first was a cooking class, where we learnt to make a dish called cowslip. It consisted of mashed potatoes with a layer of vegetables in the middle, topped off with more mashed potatoes and a decorative garnish. We prepared a three-course meal, which was a fantastic experience as we got to enjoy eating it after we’d finished cooking.

In the evening, we attended a service at Andy’s church. He introduced us to the pastor, and it was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed seeing Andy in a pastoral role. This was the last meeting we had, and it went very well. We were blessed, as were the people. Most places we visited were full, which was encouraging.Another highlight was a tour of the St Francis of Assisi Church in Lima, famous for its catacombs underneath, which hold the remains of 75,000 people buried within the walls. Interestingly, there are also said to be the bones of giants there. I found it unsettling to see people queuing outside, stretching around three blocks, all carrying flowers to visit the Catholic church and pray to St Jude on his feast day, the 28th of November.

The tour guide commented on how sad it was and asked why people do this. I explained that they don’t realise everyone can come to the Father through JesusChrist, His Son. It’s not through other ways like this. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” We both agreed it was a sad misunderstanding.

One of the sites I found interesting was the monastery where chosen women of thatera were placed to keep them pure.

We had a lovely time to unwind and rest, and our flight back home was pleasant too.
