Visa News, Exciting Changes, and Welcoming Volunteers

I’m very thankful that I got a year visa to stay in China so this takes a lot of pressure off me.All of the big kids are now over on the ground floor of the government building. The government have put fans in the ceiling. The children have the whole length of the building.

We’ve divided the ground floor into segments of a classroom, activity room, reading room, exercise room and an area for their meal time. They have a large room that they can sleep in in the middle of the day. They are there every day from 8am-5pm. It’s so cute, I see them off at the front gate of the Home and wave goodbye to them every morning. They have their backpacks on their backs and all walk over to the government orphanage for the day. When they come back for the night, I welcome them back and it feels like I’m welcoming them back from school. It’s around 32 and 33 celsius at the moment, it’s very hot. We’ve got a lady volunteer here who is French. Her name is Christine and she lives in Egypt.

She’s a nurse and has been helping me with some of the work around the place.I’m so excited to have a team coming from Wanganui in September. It will be fun having some other kiwis around here, we can speak our own language.I was very happy that I was able to get all the adopted children’s photos and videos and a register onto a USB stick. I separated all the photos into the different years from 2005 until now so that way we’ve got the 4 videos of me and my different Homes that I’ve opened and all the photos taken from the years that the adopted child was here, as well as a register of all the babies in the Home for each year. I was able to get these out to parents. I’ve had good reports back that the children squeal with delight when they see them.
