I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and that you have a great new year. I’m really excited because this year is the year of the dog which is the year that I was born in. I know that great things are going to happen this year. The sign of the dog in China is helping mankind and a faithful friend. The kids had a great Christmas.
They had a Christmas stocking each filled with fruit, sweets, toys and many other things. It was quite an effort to get all the children’s socks filled but we did it and it was a great success. This year I cooked the food for the nannies and the children so then Ruth and I could have a Christmas meal together with them all. We have 12 babies ranging from 4 months to 3 years. On the ground floor we have 10 children ranging from 4 years to 13 years.
We have a lot of volunteers coming this year. I have decided that they will spend more time with the children, for example, taking them for walks, playing, exercises, massages and teaching the big kids. Just for an example, we have a boy Stephen. He has one eye turning in and I asked two of my nannies to see if he could look at an eye chart and tell them which way the E was facing. But he didn’t understand and couldn’t do it so I had to adapt that and use a toy and ask him which way was the toy facing.
He is slowly getting it but it took three nannies to talk to him to tell him what to do. We are doing this in preparation for a visit to the eye hospital to see if we can find out what is wrong with his eye. Most of our children are like this. You need to teach them well in advance before doing anything like this. Ruth came over for her 3 months holiday. It’s been wonderful having her here.I would really like to see more of my adopted children to come on the Facebook private group because I would really like to see people get united. Just imagine 669 children who have so far been adopted through my hands.
Wouldn’t it be great if all of these children could start communicating with one another because after all they had the same grandma in China who nursed then when they were a baby. This would make my heart swell because it would be like a family.
